Momentous is looking for a Director of Growth to lead retention marketing for the business. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to retain and nurture our existing customer base, ultimately driving revenue growth and customer lifetime value. This position reports to the VP of Marketing, and supports Momentous’ mission of democratizing high performance by educating our customers and helping them find the right supplements at the right time to optimize their life.
We are looking for someone who has experience operating as a player-coach (i.e., a leader who also rolls up their sleeves and contributes to get things done). This person should be highly analytical with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies. We also want someone focused on the customer - understanding and anticipating customer needs in order to create a digital experience that is forward thinking vs. reactive. The ideal candidate has led retention marketing before, ideally at a fast growing start-up.
Responsibilities:
This is a hybrid position out of either our Park City, UT or Santa Monica, CA office.

Responsibilities:
- Lead Retention Strategy
- Develop and execute customer retention strategies to increase returning customer revenue and lifetime value
- Work with our design team to create emails that that are visually appealing and consistent with our brand visual identity
- Manage external agencies and/or freelancers, and collaborate across departments to ensure there is a cohesive approach to customer retention
- Oversee email and SMS automation
- Create and optimize automated email and SMS flows, ensuring they are timely, relevant, and effective in retaining and re-engaging customers
- Work with content team to draft on-brand and engaging copy that educates our customers and empowers them to reach their best
- Implement personalized communications to enhance customer engagement
- Analyze and report on the data
- Utilize data analytics to segment our customer base, identifying high-value segments and tailor our retention efforts accordingly
- Monitor and report on key retention metrics, such as retention rates, customer churn, customer lifetime value, adjusting strategies as needed to meet targets
- Improve customer loyalty
- Research, develop and roll-out a customer loyalty program to incentivize repeat purchases and referrals
- Work with our customer support team to track and improve our NPS score
- Optimize everything
- Our customers are life optimizers so it should come as no surprise that our employees are also expected to continually test, learn and iterate
- Conduct A/B testing on retention strategies to optimize results and continue to improve our performance
- Collect and analyze customer feedback through surveys and other customer touchpoints to identify pain points and areas for improvement, then drive initiatives to address them
- 7+ years of experience developing and executing retention and CRM strategies with a proven track record of success hitting targets, preferably within the CPG industry, at an early-stage, high-growth company
- Proficiency in analyzing and improving retention metrics such as LTV, returning customer revenue, and subscription revenue and churn
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments and with external partners
- Experience working in Klaviyo, Shopify, Recharge, and ideally Google Analytics
- Deeply curious about the customer to help inform decision making
- Action-oriented with a high tendency testing & learning
- Passion for a high performance lifestyle including personal knowledge and curiosity for supplements and sports nutrition
- Design and copywriting experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, economics, marketing, business administration or a related field (master's degree preferred)
