POSITION SUMMARY:

Momentous is looking for an Assistant Director of Brand Narrative to join the Marketing Team and lead content creation and strategy. This position will report to the Creative Director and will be supported by an internal team as well as external freelancers. The Assistant Director of Brand Narrative will set the tone for the brand, create and guide all narratives, and ensure cohesive storytelling across all marketing channels.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Own the brand story which consists of brand voice (communication and storytelling) and setting the tone and standards for all written copy
  • Plan, develop, and execute the editorial strategy for website, blog, email, social paid media, and SEO
  • Hire, train and lead internal copywriting team and oversee external freelance relationships
  • Ensure editorial goals are aligned with business objectives and customer needs
  • Prioritize work and resources across engagements
  • Develop content schedules by collaborating with department leads, copywriters, and creative/production team
  • Review and approve copy developed by the team ensuring that deliverables address marketing goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, communications, media, or related field
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience, with 5 plus years as an editorial director in an agency or corporate setting
  • Experience in creating marketing/advertising campaigns — from developing the messaging to overseeing production on time and within budget
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills
  • Experience in project management, with a focus on creative direction
  • Ability to understand the customer mindset and craft narratives that speak to them

LOCATION:

  • This is a hybrid position out of our Santa Monica, CA office, and requires travel quarterly. Relocation support to be provided if needed
