Position Summary

Momentous is looking for a Creative Director to join the Marketing Team and lead all Creative strategy and content creation. This position reports to the VP of Marketing and will be supported by an internal team as well as external agencies and freelancers. The Creative Director will drive the look and feel of our brand and collaborate across departments to ensure all content needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Own creative direction of the brand:
    • Own the brand voice, communication and storytelling
    • Own the visual and digital identity of the brand and maintain a cohesive look and feel for all brand assets
  • Lead internal creative team and oversee external agency relationships
    • Manage creative department timelines and budgets
    • Curate a culture of creativity and innovation on the creative team
    • Conduct brainstorming sessions with creative team, maintaining strategic thinking to develop innovative and actionable initiatives in a fiscally responsible manner
    • Prioritize work and resources across engagements, based on short- and long-term needs, and develop content schedules by collaborating with designers, copywriters, and production artists
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Partnerships, Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to bring the brand to life
    • Leverage Momentous partners, expert content and influencers to produce assets that increase customer engagement
    • Supervise a cross-functional team of graphic designers, copywriters, social-media experts, photographers/videographers, and project managers in the strategic development of messaging and deliverables
    • Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling print materials and digital experiences for sophisticated audiences
    • Review and approve art and copy developed by the team, including but not limited to all web, print, and digital collateral, ensuring that deliverables address marketing goals and challenges effectively
    • Oversee the presentation of final concepts, and obtain approvals for deliverables
    • Oversee the design layout and visual impact of marketing materials and products
    • Manage external agencies and partners
Qualifications

  • Ten years of relevant experience, with seven or more years as a creative director in an agency or corporate setting
  • Experience in creating marketing/advertising campaigns — from developing the vision and messaging platform to overseeing production on time and within budget
  • Experience in creating integrated content across all marketing channels: digital, social media, paid media, mobile, offline, and print
  • Proven ability to develop successful concepts
  • Proficiency in leading a team of diverse, talented creatives
  • Strong creative vision, with an eye on business objectives
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, communications, media, or related field
  • Experience as a copywriter, graphic designer, or production artist
  • Experience in project management, with a focus on creative direction
  • Ability to think strategically and translate a creative vision into an executable plan
  • Great communication and collaboration skills to work effectively cross-functionally and with agency partners
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias towards action

LOCATION

  • This is a hybrid position out of our Santa Monica, CA office, and requires travel quarterly. Relocation support to be provided if needed.
