Rob Dyrdek is a renowned entrepreneur, media mogul, and former pro skateboarder who has built a multi-decade career at the intersection of entertainment and enterprise. Now, he’s launching his most ambitious venture yet: Existence.
Existence is the culmination of Rob’s life’s work – a software and philosophy designed to help people create a life of alignment, energy, and joy by intentionally designing their time. By combining AI with personal data, the platform generates a real-time narrative of how users think, feel, and spend their time, guiding them to become who they’re meant to be.
To support this mission, we're developing a new flagship show: Time Creationist.
We’re seeking a highly versatile shooter, editor, and technical director to help bring Time Creationist to life—our new podcast and digital video series, and the spiritual successor to Build With Rob.
The ideal candidate is an excellent DP for both studio and documentary, a fast and thorough editor, and technically proficient in running both video and audio during in-studio multi-cam shoots. They are interested in productivity and self-actualization, have a good sense of story, can think outside the box, and are a genuine creative collaborator.
This is a year-long contract position to start, located in the Los Angeles area. While some of the work can be done remotely, shoot days are in the studio.
The role will work closely with the Producer, who is remote in NYC, as well as the CMO and Social Director, both of whom are local in LA. While Time Creationist is the immediate priority, there will be opportunities to collaborate on additional field-based content as the need arises. We need someone capable of holding down the studio on their own with occasional help from freelancers.
Qualifications:
- DP with a good eye for capturing high quality images, both in and out of studio
- Lighting and grip experience preferred
- Experience with BlackMagic Pocket 5k cameras and high end DSLR’s
- Fast, thorough editor with Adobe Premiere
- Working knowledge of After Effects and motion GFX toolkits
- Experience in recording high quality audio and multicam video live in-studio and troubleshooting technical glitches
- Familiarity with capturing Zoom, Riverside and other remote video platforms
- Familiarity with ATEM and other live switching platforms
- Knowledge of or interest in self-actualizing, personal betterment, productivity
- Ability to recognize great sound bites for highlight clips and sizzle reels
- Strong desire to collaborate on creative ideas and brainstorms
- A knack for workflow optimization and efficiency
- Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
- Photography capability a huge plus
Responsibilities:
- Engage in pre-production with Producer and Rob
- Lead principal photography and audio recording on studio shoot days
- Optimize technical workflow for filming and powering LED screen
- Edit full video episodes of the show (podcast currently edited separately)
- Identify highlights and soundbites in each episode
- Edit :30 teasers & highlight clips for each episode in multiple aspect ratios
- Manage all media and deliverables
- Participate in new idea brainstorms for TC and beyond
- Shoot and edit additional content as necessary
